The 10th anniversary exposition of Future Minds, kicked off its Galle edition at the Galle Town Hall on 19th September 2015. Hon. Cabinet Minister of Home Affairs, Vajira Abeywardena graced the opening ceremony as the Chief Guest while Chandima Weerakkody Cabinet Minister of Petroleum and Petroleum Gas also attended as a Guest of Honour. Addressing the gathering Minister Vajira Abeywardena said that recent experiences showed that the majority of youth entering the job market as well as their parents are clueless about career development. The minister further elaborated that with the trends that are shaping up in the country, lack of proper higher educational qualifications may be an unsurpassable barrier for employment. The minister related of an attempt similar to Future Minds, with his involvement earlier and commended that Future Minds is very good event and it will benefit the students of southern province immensely. Minister Chandima Weerakkody speaking, touched on the unawareness of school leavers on various highly rewarding career paths and stressed that in the impending future that there will be vast opportunities in the field of petroleum. Future Minds, with him at the helm as the first ever Future Minds chairman and expressed his pride and joy on the 10 year long advancement of the premier higher education exhibition.
The exhibition is conducted for the fourth consecutive year at Galle and will be conducted on 19th and 20th Sep. from 9am to 6pm and entrance is free to the public.
